Gnomeo and Juliet is a fun animation for all the family. Utilizing a soundtrack of Elton John songs and the voice talents of the likes of James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Michael Caine, Maggie Smith and Jason Statham, the film is an enjoyable modern-day spin on the Shakespeare story. It's also a nice change to see traditional UK environments being used in a Major Studio animation. A standout example is Gnomeo's van trip into town followed by a visit to Shakespeare's statue in the park.The 3D is consistent throughout...the gnomes and other objects have a nice solidity to them, but as this is mainly for children, the 3D seems to have been held back with only the occasional moments where it opens up. Because of this, Gnomeo and Juliet receives the slightly diluted 3DA rating.
